Bergessio the blow of the Greens

Finally, AS Saint-Etienne goes into high gear ... Having squandered Bafétimbi Gomis among rival Lyon for some 15 million euros, the Greens have responded by enlisting Bergessio Gonzalo, Argentinian international 25. With a sharp left foot, the newcomer has signed a contract for four seasons with the residents of League 1, which are paying 6.2 million euros.

France, land of welcome favorite Argentines? In recent weeks, believing that Ligue 1 has operated a wind of seduction on the players Albiceleste since after Lucho Gonzalez (Marseille), Lisandro Lopez (Lyon) and Gabriel Heinze (Marseille), it is the turn of Gonzalo Bergessio discover the Hexagon, with the coat of AS Saint-Etienne on the shoulder.

Two selections, two goals

While the character is less well known than his compatriots mentioned previously, but its recent presence in the national team, led by Diego Armando Maradona, can be heartening for the public Geoffroy-Guichard. In the Cauldron, many simply hope that the newcomer will not be the level of Daniel Bilos, another lefty Argentine past gale by Forez in the first half of 2006-2007 season.

Anyway, the club's sporting director, Damien Comolli, did not hide his satisfaction after having reached an agreement with the Argentine San Lorenzo. "This player is our first choice sports as we had defined together with Alain Perrin.'s Profile matches the needs of the coach and team style. Gonzalo is perfectly complementary players currently in our workforce," said former strongman Tottenham.

The 6th rookie

Optimism is therefore required on the side of the ASSE, which relies heavily on a player, strong on his feet and able to evolve along the whole front of attack, like a Carlos Tevez (all proportion guarded, of course ...). Called for the first time with the Albiceleste last October on the occasion of a defeat against Chile, Bergessio has since postponed the prestigious Sky striped shirt and white, against Panama (3-1) in a friendly match, and shined with two goals to his counter.

With this new rookie, torn to 6.2 million euros and a four seasons with the key, the ASSE loop and its summer recruiting, having enlisted Vincent Plante, Gelson Fernandes, Guirane N'Daw, and Bakary Sako Boubacar Sanogo. More questions to take Diego Tardelli. "It's actually a track that we studied but Gonzalo Bergessio was our first choice," said Comolli.

Now, Alain Perrin has the group he wanted and, after three missed steps in Ligue 1 (Nice, Toulouse and Boulogne-sur-Mer), the French technician does only a narrow margin of maneuver. The Cauldron asks only to boil again, possibly with the Argentine accent.
