Rothen file to the Scottish

At 31 years and having spent 5 seasons at Paris Saint-Germain, Jérôme Rothen will discover the Scottish Premier League. Rejected the occupation of Anthony Kombouaré and failed on the last minute of the Schalke side, the left midfielder took advantage of the last day of the British transfer market to engage with Glasgow Rangers. A season on loan with option to purchase the French international revealed at AS Monaco regain the Champions League.

Jérôme Rothen would probably have achieved a better career. And this is not a criticism. Really good at AS Monaco in the epic Champions League in 2004, the midfielder born in the Paris region hoped confirm in the colors of the GMP. His time of 5 seasons in the capital was not idyllic, due to frequent injuries and poor collective performance. Individually, Rothen has even become a target of his opponents and supporters all over France.

England, Germany and finally Scotland ...

The career of the player trained at SM Caen (after his classes at the INF Clairefontaine) never really took off. Rothen has however been one of the few to stay afloat when the club struggled for its maintenance in Ligue 1. Its centers of rare precision included the happiness of Pauleta. But at the end of Season 5 mixed and generally disappointing compared to the explosion of Sessegnon and the presence of Hoarau, with whom he has never shown any complicity technical Rothen has logically decided to turn the page.

A 31-year-old French international with 13 caps has attracted little ambitious clubs. In France, for example, OGC Nice has attempted the shot, but the native of Chatenay-Malabry had no financial interest in sports and to join the Côte d'Azur. Rothen has been mainly reported in England and Germany, in training rather modest. Removed from the top of Ligue 1 by Antoine Kombouare, the lefty has missed a great opportunity to join Schalke 04, who was eventually canceled the transfer at the last minute for lack of means.

Fortunately for the player and PSG, the summer transfer market in Britain is closing only on Tuesday afternoon, allowing the Rangers FC to conclude a deal with a loan of one season of "Frenchy." The formation of Glasgow has an option to purchase one million euros, Paris had not managed to finally sell his unwanted summer.

The League of Champions, 5 years later ...

In the Scottish champions in title, the former protege of Didier Deschamps in the DSO will try to impose on his left flank fetish. The Scottish Premier League is obviously known for its continual commitment on the ground, but many more technical players, even more physically fragile (like Nakamura or McGeady at Celtic), managed to overcome their pin game

If discover a very dull life in Lowlands and a workforce with the only francophone Madjid Bougherra, French Algerian international, Rothen will have the chance to play Champions League, the Gers in the weaker group with Sevilla, Stuttgart and Urziceni . Men of Walter Smith (the successor Paul Le Guen in January 2007) will certainly have a chance to get to the knockout stages of the race. Jérôme Rothen and competition found 5 years later. At the time, the former Trojan landed at PSG team to win in France. Today, it is too late.
